    3. Jo, thanks for getting this posted. I might add that this is the current Winnfield city hall located at the corner of Main and Beville Streets. As it has undergone some changes over the years, I think a tornado took part of it down in the 20s or 30s and the late, great Winn Parish historian, Mr. Harley B. Bozeman and Mr. Ovey Trahan and possibly others, went to Washington, D. C. against the wishes of Huey P. Long, and obtrined federal money to refurbish it. Huey had fallen out with F. D. R. and did not want the state to take any federal funding, hence his protest against the local contingent going to D. C. and asking. I was told that the Roosevelt Administration jumped at the chance to aid due to Huey's opposing the idea.
