Greetings: The meeting was called to order at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2001 by President Gregg Davies. Following the pledge of allegiance to our flag, a brief, unofficial treasurer's report was given by Annette Womack, acting treasurer, indicating approximately $3,127 in checking, $2,195 in savings. Mrs. Nora Martin gave the library report and noted that Peggy Beaubouef had procured 31 hardback books @ $5 ea. and 9 paperback books @ $1 ea. from the Natchitoches Parish Genealogical Association. The following books were donated: 1) Murder & Mayhem in Carroll Parish, La. (Sandy Schmitz), donated by Gregg Davies 2) Edge of the Sword (Ted Tunnell), donated by Dr. Terry Jones 3) Dark & Bloody Ground (Tom Ayres) donated by Tom Ayres 4) Winn Parish Connections, Vol. I, (Barbara Smith Guillory) donated by Barbara Smith Guillory Peggy Beaubouef gave a financial report on the September Conference and noted that we had a net profit of $531. Gregg Davies reported that our refrigerator had taken a powder and he had replaced it with a new one. He was reimbursed. It was announced that our annual Christmas open house would be held at our next regular meeting, December 8, and all those who attend were are asked to bring a refreshment. Doris and Dorothy Shell were thanked for their usual good job of procuring refreshments. The following officers were elected by acclamation to serve in 2002: Annette C. Womack, President Dr. J. Paul Peters, M. D., Vice President Peggy Beaubouef, Secretary Gregg Davies, Treasurer Denton Shell, Historical Committee Chairman Lenora Martin, Librarian The editorial committee will be appointed in January. Following adjournment, a meeting concerning the World War II Oral History Project was headed by Dr. Peters, co-chairman. It was decided to schedule Saturday, November 17, from 9-noon, another round of interviews with veterans. We will meet at the courthouse and anyone interested in assisting is encouraged to do so.
