It was on a railroad and the area that it was in only had a grocery store. I understand that the mill is no longer there and the town it was in may have been called Midway, but also no longer exists. My grandfather John William Miller worked there probably between the years of 1910 and 1928. Also what is the difference between public and laborer Sawmills?

The family migrated to Louisiana in the 1840's and are in the 1850 Jackson Parish census. Kisiah lists her age as 45 and nativitiy as Tennessee. Travis is 54, born in SC. Kisiah died before 1860. Travis (with a different spouse) in in the 1860 Winn Parish census. Have not been able to identify parents for Kisiah, hope you can find a connection!
