Prudent B. Cambre, a native of Reserve, LA in St. John Parish, has been researching the Cambre family for many years. Michel Cambre and Mathias Cambre, natives of Germany, settled in St John Parish in the mid-1750s. Cambre family members can be found today in many parishes throughout Louisiana and in several other states. Prudent is planning on publishing a book on the Cambre family early next year and realizes that there is much information he doesn't have because of the fact that the family has spread far and wide. He is inviting anyone who has family information to provide it so that he can include it in the book.
