: Genealogy Meeting on January 8, 2005 The Imperial St. Landry Genealogical and Historical Society will hold its first meeting of 2005 on Saturday, January 8th. Open to the public, it will be held at 10 AM in the conference room of the Medical Offices wing of Doctors' Hospital, I-49 South Service Road, Opelousas. Featured speakers will be Sunset residents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gauthier. In June, 2004, they sailed from Le Havre, France, with Nova Scotia as their destination. They were among the forty Acadian descendants aboard the sailing vessel, Europa, which commemorated the 400th year of the Acadian ancestors' voyage. Mr. and Mrs. Gauthier have graciously agreed to share their experience with anyone who is interested in the Acadian ancestors who came to the New World in 1604. Refreshments will be served, beginning at 9:30, and everyone is urged to come early. Juergen Amling [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo!
