I'm trying to prove a relationship between William >STEPHENS and Anne STEPHENS. James McMullen Jr was Ann's 2nd husband, not her 1st. This fact is revealed by James III's baptismal record, as follows. McMULIN, Jacques (James - of Ireland & Anne STEVEN - from Pennsylvania) b. 6 Feb. 1820, bt. 7 May 1820 Pats: James McMULIN & Habe ---- "du pais (pays) des Walchs" [from the country of the Welsh]; Mats: Jean STEVEN & Jeane STOURD; Spons: Jean LEE jeune [younger] & Jeane Suzanne BRAYAN - his spouse. Fr. Marcel BORELLA (SM Ch.: v.7, #846) Note that this record also identifies Ann's parents as Jean Steven and Jeane Stourd, which I interpret as John Stephens and Jane Stewart. I carry William as Ann Devine's brother, but have no source to cite in confirmation, so the relationship must be regarded as unconfirmed. Do you happen to have anything on the parents of the Rachel Clark that William married? LV Hayes

Celestine married Auguste Mouton; Philanise married Jean Louis Bessan; and Philogene married Odile Williams. I have not been able to find much information on Auguste.
