My family tree includes Frederick Hueske, married to Henrietta Luelke, and their children Alillia, Theodora, Julianna, Caroline, Edward, Charlotte, Helena and Otto. Charlotte Hueske married Paul Daniel Krause. Do any of these names tie in with your family tree? Thanks, Susan

I am familiar with the books that you gave as reference: I guess it is just a problem of not seeing the forest for the trees! Do you happen to have any information on John F. Abshire b. May 1860 married to Setestme about 1881. Their children are: Elizabeth, Angelas, an un-named son, Stephal and Bernard. The daughter, Elizabeth, is the direct line, but I can't go any further back than her father. I wondered if he was an Abshire from those that came from Virgnia but did not go to Louisiana.

Father Donald Hebert was a Catholic priest located in Mire, LA. For years he went to all the southwest Louisiana Catholic Churches and Civil Courthouses. He published the indexes to those records in 41 volumes from pre-colonial times to about 1909. He also did the same for south Louisiana. Those indexes include births, baptisms, deaths, successions, and marriages among a few other records and documents. You can find those books in good genealogy library, if not, see if you can interlibrary loan them. They're worth the cost. Also, the Mormon Church's Family History Library started microfilming them without Fr. Hebert's permission and may still have some on microfilm. He also published the first 33 volumes of those books on a CD-rom. See his website at Hebert Publications . I keep hearing of records kept by Father Herbert. How can I get a copy of these records. Being in Illinois, I can't just go to Louisiana. I'm sure there's a lot of my family's info in his records. Marguerite LeBlanc, b. 21 April 1810 in St Martinville, La. Children of this couple I have as: 1. Andre Emile b. 6 Feb 1824 2. Irene (Hirene) Euranie LeMaire, b. 4 April 1829 (my grt-grt grandmother) 3. Carmelite LeMaire, I think she was a twin to Irene. 4. Aurelia LeMaire, 17 March 1833 5. Valery LeMaire, abt Nov 1835 The LeMaire family is well documented back to Germany and I have all of the research but am trying to piece together the later cousins of my grandmother Irene LeMaire. From what I understand, Andre was a name often given to LeMaire sons and then they were distinquished from others by the use of their second name. It can be confusing. I'd love to have more on the above children and their descendants. Irene LeMaire married my grt grt grandfather John Vachel Stephens. Their daughter Josephine Stephens was my grt grandmother who married Alfred Hebert. Irene died in childbirth and John married her cousin Josephine Trahan and had two daughters with her. My line is: 1. Andre LeMaire dit Edelmeyer m. Rasalie Baudoin 2. Andre LeMaire Jr. m. Marguerite LeBlanc 3. Irene LeMaire, m. John Vachel Stephens 4. Josephine Stephens, m. Alfred Hebert 5. Inez Hebert, m. Ignace LeBlanc 6. Alton LeBlanc m. Dorothy Lehman 7. (me) Terry Ann LeBlanc m. Donald J. Larson I'd enjoy knowing how you all connect to LeMaires and you line of descendancy. I'd also like more on where our common ancestor lived. Terry Larson
