Hello! I visited Union Parish Courthouse a few days ago and came across an unrecorded record on George M. Savage. I was searching through the original records that are stored in boxes there. This paper would prove without a doubt who this man's father was. "Do not record", was written on the front of this document. It was from 1843. If there are any descendants of this man out there, please contact me. I also went through the some of the microfilmed Farmerville Gazettes while I was there in Farmerville. I am submitting some obituaries and death notices to Karen to put on the archives. They will be for these people: Mrs. Isabella Munger Trimble (I found two of the obituaries for her, both of them were great), Mr. Malon H. Thornton and his wife Allie B. Thornton, Josephine A. Dean, wife of Elijah M. Dean, Mr. J. W. Nolan (short death notice), Mr. W. J. Pickel, Mrs Mary A. Tabor, wife of Dr. T. J. Tabor (another great obit), Marcus Meeks (short notice), Mrs. S. J. Everett, wife of Eld. J. P. Everett, Mr. McElhancy (short notice), Mrs. Lizzie Henderson (short notice), Mrs. James S. Slawson (short notice), Mrs. Elizabeth Buckalew (short notice), and a very interesting article about the accident that took the life of Joe Shaw. All of these were found in 1896 to 1898 newspapers. Thanks! Debbie Richard
