Happy New Year! My brick wall - James Cole. First shows up in U.P. in 1840 census. I have found a William Cole in Ouachita Parish on the 1830 census, who has a son in the household about the right age to be James. I know part of Ouachita Parish was carved out to become part of Union Parish in 1839. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to determine who was in that William Cole household???????
