    3. I have done the same things with old cabinet cards, etc. I've found at estate sales (and antique shops). It is fun and a real act of kindness to try to "send them home." The sad thing is to find living descendents that are so UNINTERESTED in the photos that they will not even reimburse you what you paid for them (usually very little)! Speaking as someone who has practically no ancestral photos, I would glad pay big bucks if anyone uncovered any pictures of my kin. One of my husband's ancestors actually operated a photography studio in Mississippi County, MO during the 1870's. If anyone ever comes across a cabinet card that has a "Walgamot Studios" in Charlston, MO imprint, I'll pay $100.00 for it, regardless of WHO is in the picture!
