    3. Hi Shawn, Regarding Julia Sophia Goyne McAdams: She apparently lived with her son near Spearsville, as a widow, until her death after 1880. I have not located her on the 1870 census (over 1 million white Southerners were purposely missed on that census due to Reconstruction politics), but she is on the 1880 census living with her son. Look at the following URL, household #207 (this is page 151 of the 1880 census images online at the Union Parish archives site): http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/union/census/1880/0151.gif I cannot locate a death date for Julia right now, although I thought I had found one a few years ago. I think I confused her with Julia Ann McAdams (her mother-in-law ??), who was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church north of Spearsville between 1861 and her death after 1880. Also a member there was J. T. McAdams, who also joined in 1861 but whose death is recorded in the church records as 1865. Susan Lupo Goyne Davis, the widow of Hiram D. Goyne, Sr. and Julia Sophia Goyne McAdams' mother, joined the church in 1861, but was dismissed in 1862. Finally, Julia Sophia Goyne McAdams' brother Joseph R. Goyne joined in 1870 and was the church clerk until his death in 1880. However, I have not located Julia Sophia Goyne McAdams herself on the partial church membership list. I'm in the process of going through the old minutes and abstracting them to put on the archives page, so perhaps something on her will turn up. If you have any additional information on Julia Sophia Goyne Davis or her descendents, I would be interested in it. Did she only have one son, Joseph F. McAdams? Robbie Landry and I have much data on the ancestry of Julia Sophia Goyne's father, Hiram Davis Goyne, Sr. (c1799-1852).
