Dear List, I am researching a Lynch family located in 1870 and 1880 census in Union Parish. 1870 census J. Barney Lynch, age 27, grocer keeper, b. Missouri Josephine, wife, age 25 b. Georgia Spencer (Allen), stepson?, age 7, b. Louisiana Henry, son, age 1, b. Louisiana Alis, dau, age 4/12, b. Louisiana 1880 census J. B. Lynch, farmer, age 37, b. Missouri J. Lynch, wife, age 35, b. Louisiana Henry Lynch, son, age 15, b. Louisiana Allie Lynch, dau, age 10, b. Louisiana R. or K. C. Lynch, son, age 6, b. Louisiana Spencer Allen, step-son, age 17, b. Louisiana B. F. Cats (Katz???), relationship listed as "other", age 24, b. Missouri Do any of these family members sound familiar to anyone? This Lynch family is buried in the Bernice City Cemetery. But, do any of you know anything about the migration trails, travel paths, etc. from Missouri to Union Parish, Louisiana? I know nothing about the settlement pattern from the northwest.
