    2. Hi Karen. You may be able to help me on this one. I was told that my great grandfather, Sam (John) Foster, born about 1866 in Alabama, was full blood American Indian. (This has not been proven yet). While checking a site for Alabama (Native Americans in the Civil War), I came upon a name, J.C. RICHARDSON that was in I believe the 23rd or 28th division of Alabama, (I can't locate that site anymore) and he was listed as Co.I. Anyway, I have just recently located the graveyard that my great Uncle and his mother was buried. It was Smyrna Cementery in Union Parish. Within a chain enclosure of the graveyard, there was a J.C. RICHARDSON , JR. and Sr. buried in that enclosure. I strongly feel that there is a connection to my Indian relations and to this J.C. Richardson. Does anyone have any information on this Richardson. By the way, it was listed on his tombstone that he was a doctor. I would appreciate any and all help. Here is the information that I copied off the tombstones: Dr. J. C. Richardson 4-17-62 to 8-21-1883 J. C. Richardson 8-11-1875 43 years, 7 months, & 14 days One was a Sr. and the other a Jr. Thanking you in advance, Nancy
