Hello! I went to Union Parish Courthouse on Monday and dug through their original records again. There are a couple of what appear to be birth certificates in one of the boxes with some of the naturalization records. They are for two people that I couldn't quite make out the names of. One of them appeared to be Heinrich Josten or Tosten born in 1865 and filed into evidence in 1886. The other was G? (maybe Grimmer) Janni? born in 1864 and filed into evidence in 1886. These birth certificates appear to be swedish and one of them includes the parents names and birthdates. I don't know if anyone on this list had swedish ancestors that were in Union Parish around this time period, but I thought these would be very interesting to someone from one of these men's descendants. Also, they have naturalization papers on some of the other residents of Union Parish. I asked and they do not have a Naturalization Book. So, these records are not recorded anywhere. There were quite a few in the boxes. They had to say where they were originally born in these papers. I will be going back to Union Parish at the end of May. I am going to write down all of the names of the people in the box and submit them to this list. It appears that most of them were done in the 1880's. Debbie
