    3. Please help me to welcome Jane Monroe to the Union Parish mailing list. Jane is searching for information on the ancestors of her late husband, J. T. Mizell (1934-1973). He and his siblings are dead and she would like to know more about his ancestry for her grandchildren. Below is a description of what she knows of the Mizells who lived around Bernice and Farmerville in the early to mid 1900s. If anyone knows of a connection, please help Jane. As she pointed out, most available resources deal with the period prior to 1920, so she doesn't have much to go on. Tim ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is what Jane knows about the ancestors of J. T. Mizell: Albert Mizell b. 1885 in Vinegar Bend, AL married Elizabeth Dees b. 1884 or 1887 in Deerpark, AL. They had the following children who were born in Leakesville, MS.: J. T. Sr. b. 1907; Ardon b. 1909; Alvin b. 1910; Raymond b. 1912; Moses b. 1913; Albert & Eliz. were still living in Leakesville, Greene Co., MS in 1920. Beulah Mizell was born in 1921 in either Leakesville or Bernice, LA. Mildred was born in Bernice, and may still be living there. I believe most, if not all, siblings moved to the Bernice-Farmerville area in the mid 1920's with their parents, and have lived there or in Monroe/W. Monroe area since. Albert's wife Elizabeth died in 1929 in Bernice and is buried there. He then married Dora Causey from Farmerville. Albert and Eli.'s children's marriages were to: J. T. Mizell Sr. married Willie Mae Delaney in 1933. Her parents were William Franklin Delaney and Della Ann Dowdy. She may have been from the area, I'm not sure. She was widowed from Vernard Terrance Utley. Ardon Mizell married Nola Nash. Alvin Mizell married Velma M. Green. They are buried in Bernice and have a son Larry Mizell, maybe still living in area. There may be other siblings. Raymond Oscar Mizell married Gertrude Heneritta Sheffield married in 1935 in Bernice. They are buried there or in W. Monroe, LA. Moses Phillip Mizell married Irene Buckley and he d. in Farmerville. Beulah Mizell married Harold Gibson and have one son that I know of--Jim Gibson. Milded Lee Mizell married Joe Crump and have Joe, Jr. and Charles Crump. This is all I have on these lines. Any help would be appreciated. And I would love to hear from any family still living in the area. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- _________________________________________________________________ FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar – get it now! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/
