He was the son of John Ellis Cherry and Violet Grace Patton. Ethel and both John Ellis and Violet Grace are buried in the Spearsville Cemetery. There is a William Travis Cherry (b 17 Oct 1854 d 10 Jun 1939) buried in the Spearsville Cemetery but I have him married to Martha Ann Heard the son of Judge William Powell Cherry and Elizabeth Travis.
