    3. Does anyone have any idea who this Union Parish resident could be: ------------------------------------------- Article from: 'Ouachita Telegraph', a newspaper published in Monroe 6 November 1869 page 3 ==================================================================== A Confederate soldier named Dixon has just returned from the war to his home in Union parish. It appears he was captured at Vicksburg, where subsequent to his capture, he committed some offense against a Federal officer, for which he was imprisoned, and has just now been released. ------------------------------------------- There was a soldier by the name of Marshall D. Dixon who served in Company I, 31st Louisiana Infantry Regiment. This man was with his regiment when it was captured in July 1863 at Vicksburg, but he was paroled and returned home to Union Parish until his exchange. Based upon the above newspaper article, that soldier was a different man. I cannot locate another man by the name of 'Dixon' from Union Parish who was at Vicksburg. Can anyone help?
