Joyemac, I need to clarify a recent note on Furney Bagwell, James R. Bagwell and Warren Thomas Bagwell. In a note on Jan. 13, you stated: "I have a note in my little notebook that Furney/Flurney, James & Warren Thomas were brothers. The source was Glenn O Thompson, Wichita, KS <[email protected]>" For many years, I and several others who have been researching the original Bagwell families in North LA have been trying to find proof that Furney Bagwell, James R. Bagwell and Warren Thomas Bagwell were brothers. They moved from AL to LA about the same time period and numerous papers show they had close personal and business relations. However, until recently, I had no proof that they were brothers. I now have proof that Furney Bagwell and James R. Bagwell were brothers, based on a combination of census data and succession papers. However, I have no proof that Warren Thomas Bagwell (also known as Thomas Warren Bagwell) was a brother to Furney and James. I believe he was, but I simply know of no proof that confirms this. Further, I have no information on their ancestors. I hope this clarifies the status of my information on these three pioneer N. LA Bagwells. Hopefully, someone will find proof in the near future that Warren Thomas Bagwell was also a brother to Furney and James. Glenn
