I have not been to the Stow Roan Cemetery. I understand there are marked graves there for Matthew Wood, born August 29, 1791, died October 20, 1855 and Hannah Wood, born May 17, 1791, died Feb. 9, 1864 The following is ALL UNVERIFIED information, and some of it must be wrong in order for the other to be correct IF any of it is correct. I have been told that Matthew adopted Hannah's children in Alabama, also in Georgia and Louisiana, so it seems to be up for grabs, and could have been anywhere. I have been told that Matthew and Hannah married about 1809, which would have been when they were both about age 18, but I have also been told that they married about 1823 and Mary Wood Anderson was the only one of their children born after they married. Please note this is all "hearsay" and there may NOT be any truth at all to it. Maybe someone on the list has heard something that will help us. I am planning a research trip of several weeks to Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia later this year. Maybe I can find some documentation to answer some of the questions we have about Matthew, Hannah and some others that we share. I will also look in Salt Lake later this month for them.
