    3. Hi, New to list. I am researching the name Embry from Ala., not sure what county. It seems Jarvis Milen Embry came to Vienna, La. abt 1843 at age 17 and started his own tanning business. Some say Vienna was in Union Parish at this time, not sure. After his father died, Jarvis (called Milen by his family) went back to Ala. and brought back his mother, 2 brothers Warren G, and Reuben, 2 or 3 sisters, Nancy bn abt 1823 married John Collier, Laura md, Watson and another sister said to have married a Perry. Jarvis and his brother Rube made boots for the Confederate Army. Jarvis, Rube, Thomas New't, John M. and a Jesse Embry all served in Gray's 28th during the Civil War. Jarvis married in abt 1879 Fannie P. Cook, and lived in Jonesboro. He was 53 at that time, Fannie was 26. Was Jarvis married before, any children?? Does anyone know anything abt these Embry families. Where they might be buried, etc. All records seem to be lost prior to 1873. Thanks, Sally New Orleans
