Larrie and all Union Co Arkansas is directly to the north and MANY of all of our folks had a foot on each side....at least Bruce's families did. I tell him cause they were just like him....a bit of an outlaw and were where ever it was safest! LOL. The Union Parish LaGenWeb Archvies is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/union.htm There are only two obits in there. The Union Parish LaGenWeb site is at http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/5002/ I urge you to visit both sites. Karen is the file manager of the archvies. It is a repository for source documents, such as cemetery readings, census, obits, bios, Bible records, court records. Primary source documents! Our meat and potatoes! This is a project to help folks who are researching and don't live in the area. There is an archives for every parish in LA. Winn has the largest....Calcasieu is next in the amount of data that is online. I am the file manager for the state, so I am always begging folks to send in stuff. It can't be gedcoms, it can't be still under copy right and if you hold the copy right, you retain it. It is dedicated to remain free for all to use. Individuals and libraries can make copies of the files for their own personal use, but no one can sell them. Randy DeCuir is the host for the Union Parish site. It is interesting and has some resources that the archives does not have, due to the different nature of each site. SO, I guess what I am saying is that if you want obits online, put them there as I have done. William Henry Craven is one of the two obits that is there. Folks this is a great resource and we can all use it and add to it. (PS, I am managing the Union archvies while Karen is off getting hitched, so if you want to send stuff to the archvies, send it to me.) If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer.
