BJ, Didn't have time to answer this before I left the house. . . No, court documents are not copyrighted and you can send them to the list? If anyone posts court records, it would be great to get the recording information also, volume (or book) and page, or sometimes a file number. This makes it a lot easier when you're going back to the courthouse to get a copy. Re: Family Traditions: Unfortunately, my Tubbs grandparents passed away in their early 30's and since they had moved away from their relatives in Union Parish, friends took in their children. I guess no one knew who to contact in Union Parish. So, any family traditions from that far back were lost (or new ones gained from the adoptive parents). It's a comparison of David Redden to Ben Cartwright of Bonanza. I have found a descendent of Dr. Duren mentioned in it and hope to hear from her soon and will get back to you on it. I have been trying to think how I can add to the list at this time... Are court documents copyrighted or can I copy to OCR text and send to the list? Also, I'm wondering if list members might be interested in sharing some family traditions, foods, and other trivia from UP. My husband was born in CA and his dad died when Paul was a baby, but I just wonder how much of his family tradition might have originated in UP. I sure love this group! BJ
