Hi, I'm new to the list, and seeking information on the family of my great-grandparents, who moved from Pike Co. Alabama to Union Parish probably between their marriage in 1857 and 1860. Jefferson B. SPIER (1836-1910) m. Sarah J. BOWEN (1841-1921). They lived in Ward 2, and many of the family members are buried at Liberty Cemetery in Linville. My grandfather William Jefferson SPIER (1861-1927) moved to Morehouse Parish when he married Sarah Caroline JOHNSTON in 1882. Among the other children: Susan A. SPIER (1859-1936) who married Arthur EDWARDS; Mary J. SPIER (1862-1885) m. Lester PARKS John M. SPIER (1865-1890?) James E. SPIER (1868-1888) Josephine SPIER (b. 1869) m. Charles BARR Lena C. SPIER (1871-1922) m. Frank HOLLAND Arthur L SPIER (B. 1874) m. ? Miam Elizabeth SPIER (1881-1915) m. ? HAILE Sarah J. SPIER (b. 1885) m. Rufus ALLEN I have often wondered if Jefferson B. SPIER moved to Union Parish with other family members from AL, and if there are others in the SPIER family there...even if the spelling is different. I also would like to know about the families and children of any of the above, and where Jefferson B. is buried. He and my great grandmother Sarah where living with their daughter Sarah and Rufus ALLEN at Archer in 1907. I know he died in 1910, and Sarah Bowen SPIER in 1921. She is buried at Liberty Cemetery, but I can't find a grave for Jefferson B. SPIER. Hope this is not too long. Will appreciate information on any of the above families.
