For Roy---I have been wondering what happened to everyone, then decided that football games, Thanksgiving, etc. must be the reason. I talked to Morelle not long ago and they are just waiting on some of us to tell them what to do. As to the location, another cousin mentioned Lincoln Park on Hwy 33 about 5 miles out of Ruston. From what I can understand about all of these places, D'Arbonne State Park would be the most centrally located and it has RV hookups also. It will also be close to Shiloh...if we decide to have ours the same weekend that they are....Maybe ours on Saturday and theirs on Sunday...Maybe we could convince Bernice to have something on Friday nite....Another cousin, Luther Farrar, Auburn, AL sugggested the first part of October and include the Pork Festival at Bernice in it. May and Shiloh has my vote. Our famnily had a reunion about 5 years ago and they had it catered by a firm out of Ruston. It was a barbecue type of thing and very satisfactory. We all RSVP'd and sent our fee, several weeks ahead of time, so there was not a problem with collecting or paying for the service. I also think that we should have a swap meet with this...For some of us, it may be the only one we could attend and if we set it up right, we could arrive and set up on Friday if possible and then have all of Saturday for the swap meet, visiting, meeting new cousins and pigging out on whatever is decided on. As a child, and visiting UP, I remember that every house had a bowl of peas on the table everyday....I also remember it was my job to go to the pea patch, pick the peas, shell them each evening to be cooked early the next morning. So as a bit of nostalgia, a pot of peas might be included in the menu along with hot water cornbread and pickled peaches. I have rambled on long enough tonite...please keep in touch... mary margaret
