Have been away for almost three weeks, mostly traveling on business. Did do a camp training for Girl Scouts one weekend to learn the GS way of camping. It sure was a lot easier when I was a Boy Scout! Got the dates on the Shiloh celebration. Sunday, May 23rd is the main focus of the celebration. On Saturday evening, May 22nd, they'll have a gospel singing. In terms of where to hold the reunion, if held on the same weekend as Shiloh's celebration, Shiloh's fellowship hall will be out. I'm pretty sure that they will be getting ready for their own affair. Possible alternative locations (keeping in mind the need to plan for rain) would be First Baptist Farmerville, First Baptist Bernice, Bernice High School's cafeteria, Farmerville High's cafeteria. Ruston would be next closest town, leaving the Holiday Inn as a possibility. I would prefer, though, to keep it in the parish. Potluck can be a issue. But there are fried chicken places in Farmerville, potato salad, salad, etc. can be bought in bulk at Sam's in Monroe, and desserts generally travel well. Depending on number attending, I could pick up plates, utensils, napkins and cups at Sam's. At our family reunions, I do this and pass the hat for reimbursement. Any extra goes to a cemetery upkeep fund. >From reading the few replies received, it seems we may want to keep this first one simple and the agenda loose. No reason we can't bring our stuff and share; just leave off the "fluff" of full blown swap meet. We still need a date--any suggestions. I plan to attend the Shiloh celebration so will be there that weekend. Our Mary Edmonds Lee family reunion will probably be the weekend of July 17th. Am leaving to go to Louisiana to visit my parents for the Thanksgiving holidays. We'll need everyone's input so that dates can be set. Let's set December 15th as the decision date, okay? Looking forward to hearing from everyone. Roy Austin
