    3. Karen---I have never lived in the Piney Woods of Union Parish but have been thinking about the area, its history and our ancestors. Since the Louisiana Purchase was in 1803, it would seem that the first census for the area would be 1810 - 1820 and 1830 which would be Ouachita Parish, an original Parish to the state. Then with this thought, we would also need the census records to cover our area for the 3 decades before Union Parish was formed in 1839. I do not know how you use the imaged census records to get them on line in Union Parish, but if you would just give me a mailing address I will send some money to cover the cost of the Heritage Quest membership [ 29.95 ] and the census fee [ 14.95 each ] [ or whichever company you decide on ] and with all of the offers of help, we could have census records from our beginning up to date [1920 ]. What a coup that would be ! I know that some of the others have helped to get some of the census records on line already. If you would tell me how I could help, I would certainly try. Please send the address to the list, and I am sure the fees will come forward and you can order them all at once. mary margaret mmselig-trahan@cpomail.net
