Found this on another list. Thought it may be of help to someone. js o I inherited family papers when my mother died a few years ago. I received a family Bible which belonged to my great-uncle F. (Floyd) E. HAYES with a letter from his great-grandfather, signed R. A. HAYES, dated 2 September 1881, from Athens __?___ tucked inside. I also have HAYES family pictures with the names Linda, Robert Lee, and Edger Jr. HAYES on some. I would like to share these articles with members of the HAYES family who would appreciate them. F. E. HAYES was born in Louisiana. In the Bible marriage record, F. E. HAYES of Junction City, Arkansas, was married to Mattie Lee TABOR of Shiloh. Louisiana, on 20 October 1895, at Shiloh, Louisiana, by Rev J. W. MELTON, witnesses J. R. FULLER and R. F. BROOKS. In the deaths, Mattie Lee HAYES died 24 June 1897, at the hour of sunrise at the home of her parents in Shiloh, Louisiana, age 22 years 9 months 8 days. F. E. HAYES was married second to Blanche STARR from Griffin, Georgia. He had family in Texas. He corresponded with a niece, Linda HAYES, in the 1950s just before his death. He lived in Oregon, Mexico, and Punta Gorda, Florida, and he and Blanche lived with my family for a year or so before their deaths. Barbara Baswell bbaswell@hotmail.co
