    3. Thanks to Karen for calling our attention to Springhill Cemetery. The following families either lived or later moved to Strong (Union County) Arkansas and many are buried in the Strong Cemetery. The following families lived in or near Strong in the 1950s: Burgess; Duck; Newsom; Clark; Gathright; Wheelis; Norris; Murphy; Burson; Phillips; Maroney; Norsworthy; Dollar. The Sophia A. Burgess was a Madden before marriage and Madden (Leake County, MS) is named for that family. Elizabeth LAWRENCE DOLLAR was the wife of Samuel B. DOLLAR who is buried in an unmarked grave beside her. Of course, Governor Donaghey of Arkansas descended from the Donaghey Family of this cemetery. I copied the Strong Cemetery several years ago and it was published in the Tracks and Traces, the genealogical magazine put out by the Union County Genealogical Society. Does anyone know how far back the Springhill Church records go or if there are any in existence? Louis Taunton

    3. Does anyone have any more information on the Caskey family listed here. JW Caskey, I think is my gggg grandfather. John Caskey had a daughter named Mary Cathrine who married Ben Tubbs. From the listing I assume Martha McGowan was John's wife (my gggg grandmother) and that they also had three other children Jasper, Sallie and Margaret. Mary Cathrine was born and married in AL so I assume the whole family came from AL to Union Parish. Any additional information on this line would be appreciated. Sue Linder-Linsley
