    3. Thank you Bruce, Mary Margaret, and Alice for volunteering to do the census transcriptions. Karen, thank you so much for all of your efforts - again; however, isn't there any other copy available of the 1920 census image? I'd really hate to see you "burned out" as our site coordinator if you have to take a year on this project, too. You're creative and talented - and shouldn't have to be copying the 1920 list twice. Suggestions or help, anyone? I truly can't help out on this project but wish that I could. Allana Gray Bosch -----Original Message----- From: Karen Rice [mailto:aberizn1@gte.net] Sent: Monday, July 30, 2001 5:01 PM To: LAUNION-L@rootsweb.com Subject: US Censuses Here's the latest update: Bruce Odom is transcribing the 1840 Mary Margaret Selig-Trahan is transcribing the 1870 Alice Ogles is transcribing the 1880 Which leaves 1900 and 1910 up for grabs. Allana Bosch is graciously becoming the donor of the 1910 Census. And, since our Blue Roses lady couldn't get a scannable copy of the 1920 microfilm, I am engaging in a bizarre project that may or may not succeed, but probably will take forever. Since I have a membership at Ancestry.com, I'm handwriting on census forms the info that is on the 1920 Census. If I get it all done, I will then transcribe it according to the standard template for that census year. So far, I've done 4 of 403 pages (averaging 2 a day) - and that means it will take more than a year, even if I'm able to work at it every day - which I'm not. There's got to be a better way! Anyone else out there with an Ancestry.com membership want to dive in and do a few pages?
