First we have 2 new things on the Archives tonight, thanks to Gene Barron. Gene submitted a photo of an unidentified school with lots of unidentified school children in front of it. All Gene knows is that it was taken in Union Parish in the late 1800s. It's the first one on the Unidentified Photos page. Also, Gene was able to identify one of the loggers in the logging photo submitted by Kelly Priestly. The third man from the left is Seab Byram, brother of Charlie Byram! Isn't this exciting? Now, for my own personal good news. Those of you who know me, know that William Pierce Mabry of Union Parish has been my "brick wall" for a lo-o-o-oo-ng time - about 30 yrs. Today I got an e-mail from the family guru, and we're 98% sure we know who his father was and it confirms what I always thought about who his grandfather and brother were! Also ties in with the Thomas S. Cook family neatly. Now we just need to painstakingly pull together the proofs. I'm just sharing it because a) I'm incredibly happy about it, and b) it just goes to show - never give up, because that elusive tidbit of data may be just around the corner!!
