Isaac COLE and Sarah DUNCAN Cole left Tuscaloosa Co, AL abt 1857, went to AR for a brief time, and by October 1860 were purchasing land outside of Farmerville. I believe it was then Union Parish but became Ouachita Parish. Isaac died 1875 and Sarah died 1876. They are my only direct line ancestors to have lived in LA (that I am aware of!). Several of their children either came with them to LA in 1860 or moved there after the Civil War, also living in Union and/or Ouachita area: Martha Ann "Mattie" COLE m. Sarah Elizabeth COBB, 1865, Union Co, AR (but later moved to Union Parish, LA!) Lizzie COLE m. Samuel LOVE, 1872, LA (both buried Liberty Cemetery, Linville, LA) John Thomas COLE m. Mary "Mollie" FORD; m. Maria S. CHILDRESS; m. Kate CAROTHERS (all lived in LA - Union and/or Ouachita) Andrew Jackson COLE m. Rachel Errye MAYFIELD, 1874, Union Co, AR (moved to Union Parish, LA; both bured in Concord Cemetery) Isaac's parents were William COLE (b. 1776, SC; d. 1855, AL) and Martha "Patsy" JONES Mitchell Cole (b. 1775, GA; d. 1860, MS). Both William and "Patsy" are BRICK WALLS for me!! With the connections Isaac seems to have had with Union Parish, LA and Union Co, AR I have also been searching for COLEs in these areas.....
