Announcing the formation of a genealogical and historical society for northeast Louisiana. Next meeting will be held September 9, 2001 at the Ouachita Parish Public Library, 1800 Stubbs Ave. The meeting will be at 2:30 P.M. in the Louis Locke room. We will vote on a name, bylaws and a nominating committee. Proposed goals: 1. Educational programs and workshops 2. Procuring new material for genealogy and historical collections 3. Encouraging the public to donate to their local parish genealogy and historical collections 4. Having liaisons with other libraries 5. Promoting the history of northeast Louisiana
