    3. Debi, you've made my day. This is wonderful! I believe you are probably correct about M. Bennett being the wife of John Bennett, JR. In the 1850 Union Parish census, there is a John Bennett in the 1850 census with Margarett Bennett. It says John Bennett was born in NC. Thanks for your kind assistance. Now I have lots of clues and possibilities to check out. I don't know where Nancy Smith may have died. Louisa James died in Hall County, Texas in 1924. Thanks again for your help.
