Jack, In some cases El Dorado was closer than going to Farmerville. Also, it could have had something to do with the thrill of going to a bigger city to get married. Both of my grandparents were born and raised in Union Parish, LA, but they got married in Union Co., AR. I just check the marriage records for Union Co., AR on the website and found several DeShazo and Milam marriages and a lot of Brasher, Brashier, and Brasier marriages. Good luck in your search.
