    3. Hello to All on List, I am a new subscriber and this is my first time to post to this list. Recently, I discovered some of my ancestors were in Union Parish, LA during the mid 1800s. A cousin sent me a copy of the marriage certificate of my 2nd great grandparents. It shows they were married on July 7, 1853 in Union Parish, LA in the home of A. Bennett by Rev. A. D. Gaskill, Methodist Minister. My 2nd great grandparents were Alfred A. JAMES and Louisa May THOMPSON. Alfred A. JAMES was b. in Alabama in 1833. I don't know exactly where in Alabama, His father was Benjamin JAMES. I don't know the name of his mother. Am looking for parents, siblings. He died, probably in Texas between 1873 and 1880, place unknown. Louisa May THOMPSON, was the daughter of Nancy BENNETT and George THOMPSON. I don't know where she was born. Some census records show KY and some show TN. She was born April 29, 1835. She died in Memphis, Hall Co. TX on September 11, 1919 and is buried in Hall Co. TX. Am looking for information on her parents and siblings. Also would like to know who the A. BENNETT, at whose house they were married, might be and how he or she was related to Louisa. Louisa THOMPSON JAMES and Alfred A. JAMES came to Texas. I don't know exactly when they came. Their oldest child is believed to have been born in Caddo Parish in abt 1854 and their second child in Ft. worth, Tarrant Co. TX in 1856. I see from the records on the USGenWeb Union Parish site that there were lots of Bennetts and Thompson. Didn't find many James. Any help on James, Thompson or Bennett will be appreciated. Thanks.
