I am searching for the following man - HK/Hezekiah/Hazie Kye Marshall. He was killed in a logging accident in 1886 but I do not have any idea where. I was told that a logging chain broke killing him. I know that in the 1880 census, his wife, Lizzie (Elizabeth) Marshall nee' Amerson/Emerson, was living in Morehouse Parish with her brother, Dan. She is listed as married but her husband was not listed in that household which leads me to believe he was logging somewhere else. By 1882, they were supposedly living in Union Parish because their son was born there. I also know that after HK Marshall died, Lizzie remarried in Union Parish to Richard "Henry" Clay Turnage. What I am trying to find out is how far did loggers go from home for work? Would there be an obituary in the Parish or town newspaper that HK Marshall's wife and/or family lived? I am also looking for the cemetery where Lizzie is buried. She died bewteen 1892-1902. Hope someone can help me :-) Ruth

Hi Cheryll, My third generation great grandfather was Lucky N. Pierce. I first find him marrying Sarah Beaird in Bibb County, Alabama. He was also living close to a Pleasent Pierce in Bibb County. Lucky and Sarah moved from Bibb County, Alabama to Union Parish LA in 1846, settling in the Zion Hill community. Lucky Pierce died in 1855 and Sarah Beaird Pierce continued to live in the Zion Hill Community of Union Parish with her family until the early 1870s. At that time her son Enoch J. Pierce moved to Hempstead County Arkansas, and Sarah followed him. In 1875, Enoch J. Pierce was shot and killed and I do not know where Sarah went from there. Sarah had three other sons that left Union Parish and I have never been able to figure out where they went, but maybe this is where Sarah went after Enoch's death. Hi John, Your James T. Mabry is James Thomas Mabry, my great-uncle and the son of William Pierce Mabry and Catherine Henry Cook. Would be interested in knowing if anyone is researching the Fellows family. I have William M. Fellows & Ellen in the 1850 Louisiana Censes , Union Parish , Marion Post Office. William M. Fellows age is 35 , Ellen 25 , son William 8 , daughter Mary 6 , son John 4 , son Edward 2 , and daughter Ellen 7/12 . All the children were born in Louisiana. William M. Fellows shows to be born in North Carolina . Ellen shows to be born in Virginia . Also living in the house hold is Edward Eckles born in Virginia. I think Edward may be Ellen's brother. John
