    3. You're the greatest! What's your yellow cat's name - you should have known my Charlie!! Please, by all means post it on the list. There are too many people on this list related to TUBBS and BARRETTS not to!! So the book I've been hearing about all this time was written by Harold Mullenax? I have his raw data from some years ago. That's where most of this stuff I'm responding to you guys with is coming out of! When was the book published, and is Harold still alive and in Tulsa, and his wife Helen? Karen

    3. Laura, Did you read Arelia Breed's obit? The Wayne Barrett listed as a pall bearer is probably the Union Co AR high school principal I used to correspond with 15 or so years ago. He is the one who gave me the info I did have on the Barretts. You related? Karen

    2. Karen Kueteman
    3. Frances, The following was posted to the list earlier by Sue Lynn, and I know I saw a Dison obit in the Sep or Oct 1998 files. You may want to check it out: "Since we are a neighboring parish and many are listed in the Monroe News-Star Obituaries I wanted everyone to be aware of the daily obituaries listed at the site below. If there is a long obituary that you would like listed that has appeared in the paid for obits, please let me know within a few days of the death and I will pull the paper and connect the obit. I am not able to type in all of the long obituaries so I only enter those who request it. If there is a picture I will scan it and put it with the long obituary also. -- *******SueLynn Sandifer, Ouachita Parish Coordinator for LAGenWeb******* Ouachita Parish Genealogy Page http://www.bayou.com/~suelynn/ouachita.html " Karen

    2. Karen Kueteman
    3. Louis, Could this lady be Arelia "Shorty" Breed? Gina just posted her obit, and I got a copy, which lists her son as living in the area. Maybe someone could contact him. I think someone, maybe Randy DeCuir, I'm not sure, told me her son helped her with her genealogy so I can't imagine him throwing it away. Can anybody answer this one? Addie Mae? Karen

    3. I am in Altus, Oklahoma. Where the heck is that, you say? It is a little bitty old patch in the very southwest corner of Oklahoma between the main fork and the north fork of the Red River, over which Texas and Oklahoma fought a court battle about 100 yrs ago. Depending on your point of view, Texas either lost or won. At any rate we became part of Oklahoma. Karen

    3. Great idea!! I'm in Houston, Texas. My great-grandparents, David Franklin Tubb and Lula Paulk, moved from Union Parish to Miller County, Arkansas. (The Coker, Paulk, and Pilgreen families also moved to Miller County.) I still have Tubbs and Coker relatives in Miller County - lost contact with the Paulks. Regarding Arelia: Thanks to everyone for the info and to Gina for sending the obit on Arelia. In a letter I received from Arelia dated March 28, 1997, she said that "I am sorting and refiling the old Civil suits. . ." From the tone of her letters and the amount of information she shared, she must have had quite a bit of information gathered. She wrote about people in the past as if she were writing about someone living today. She had also mentioned a book by Harold Mullemeux (sp?) of Oklahoma, who was related to the Tubb family and had done extension work on that line. She had meant to copy this book for me when she felt better. I'm sure we could locate a copy somehow. It seems she also mentioned her son having an interest in genealogy. I have a yellow tomcat helping me type and dig through papers - reckon he's the reincarnation of an ancestor? :) Louis - regarding Tabor/Tubb families: I knew about William Tabor and Susannah Tubb - wondering if you knew how the families made it to Union parish together? Karen - I can send my info on John Brown Tubb, Jr. and Anna Lee Barrett directly to you if you'd like - or post it here if others are interested. Did I miss anything? Addie Mae "Sally" Tubbs Hale Houston, Texas
