Dawkins' sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons served as teachers, judges, clerk of court, senators, attorneys, newspaper editors, etc., both in Union Parish and across the region. One cannot study the records of latter-nineteenth century Union Parish without encountering a Dawkins official, and I have found the book well-written, fascinating, and very enjoyable. If you're interested in a copy, you may obtain one in Farmerville from the Union Museum of History and Art, or order one from Mrs. Bassett herself by sending her an email: [email protected] Thanks, Tim _______________________________________________ Union Parish Louisiana Mailing List Timothy D.
