Hi everyone, Since this list is so brand new and I am new at being a listowner, I hope you will bear with me. When I sent the "test" message a few days ago, I didn't get the message for some reason. The purpose of this list will be to share genealogical information with other St. John The Baptist Parish researchers. A good place to start would be to send a message to the list stating what surnames you are researching and what genealogical information you have access to. There has been a lot of problems with SPAM mail lately (unsolicited email). Hopefully the safeguards at rootsweb will keep this problem happening. If any of you are subscribers of any MAISER lists, you have seen the devastation that spamming can do. Hopefully those lists, that have mostly been moved to Rootsweb, will be up and running again shortly.
