The 2 Most important places where REINE surname is located are in Louisiana and near Paris at about 120 Kms south. Is there someone interesting in finding the link between Louisianea and France? REINE surname seems to first appear in France near Marseille. Has some one infos from REINE coming to Louisiana ? Thanks >> Hello, In response to your e-mail, my great-great-great-great-great-great grandparents were ETIENNE REINE, born circa 1730, and his wife, FRANCOIS RENAUD, of New Orleans. Their daughter MARIE MARGUERITE REINE, married NICHOLAS SARDE, born circa 1758. In turn, their daughter, EVLALIE SARDE, born circa 1774, married in about 1793 to FRANCOIS GAINIER (also later spelled GAIENNIE), born circa 1760. The latter couple is my g-g-g-g grandparents. I'm related to the REINE Family through the Gaiennie Family, and specifically through MARIE SOPHIE GAIENNIE PERRET, my paternal great grandmother. I do not have any hard information linking any of the Reine Family to France -- and then on to Louisiana -- althought it is entirely possible. If you have information that can link your research to the names noted, it would be very much appreciated. By the way, you did not indicate you name, nor whether you or your cousin are in some way related to the Reine Family. Please respond. Thanks. David B. Becnel DBBecnel@AOL.com
