I am attempting to find information on the parents of Pierre Denis Roussel (Roufsel) who was born in the German Coast LA ca 1730 and died November 25, 1780. He is buried at St. John the Baptist Church in Edgard. (Can you tell me how to get to this church?) Pierre Denis married Catherine Brou (1759) who was the widow of Thomas Becnel. His father's name may have been Jean Roussel (Roufsel), but I am not certain of this. I found some old documents in St. Charles Parish where the Roussel name is spelled Roufsel or Rousfel.
