Hello Michelle, I haven't contributed to LASTJOHN-L@rootseb.com -- yet, but I've received lots of great data on many families. I have to respond to one or two people because I really believe I have something of value for them. I do hope to share more of my research with LASTJOHN-L in the future. I guess my reluctance is that I have not verified the accuracy of all of the information. While I have sources on some of it, some are only personal accounts from elderly relatives long deceased. And even legal documents conflict, and probably always will regarding the spelling of names, full names, etc. However, I've been thinking that if it's a legal document, and a source is given, others can use the information based on the specific knowledge of the source. Is contributing to the LASTJOHN-L list difficult to do? I would be interested in your comments. What other families are you researching? I am related in several ways to the Haydels, so the marriage information you sent on them will be quite helpful. In response to your offer on Early Louisiana Marriage Lookups, I know that quite a number of Becnel researchers would be thrilled at verifying some Becnel marriages. Do you need specific names of individuals and/or places? I believe you know of Darlene Becnel Schanatz, and possibly several others in our "group" of online researchers. Darlene was your contact when you extended the invitation for us to receive your list. And forgive me for not doing it sooner, "Thank You" so much for allowing us to receive the genealogical information generated by LASTJOHN-L. I fear that we'll be thrown out on our ear if we don't give something back, and I want to do that -- and soon. Take care Michelle. David B. Becnel New Orleans
