LASTJOHN-L members, I received this query on the 4th. Looking to see if any of you have information on these surnames. Ernest A. Haydel HAYDEL, WILLIAMS, HEBERT I am Ernest Anthony Haydel, Jr. born in New Orleans April 15, 1929. My father, Ernest Anthony HAYDEL, Sr. was born in New Orleans in 1902 or 1903. In 1922 he married Anna Mary HEBERT of New Orleans. Both are deceased - she in 1970 and he in 1980. Ernest was eighth child of Emile HAYDEL of St. John parish who married Annie WILLIAMS of Pointe A La Hatche. I believe Emile was in or from Edgard. They moved to New Orleans where Emile and Annie had eight children: Alden, Joe, Mary, Eloise, Evelyn, Hilda, one other girl and Ernest (youngest), my father. Emile was a motorman on streetcars for New Orleans Public Service and retired from there. He died in the early 1940's. Emile had a brother who remained on "The German Coast" where he died. I do not remember meeting him. I understand that all Louisianan HAYDELS came from Ambros who came to LA in 1721. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has information for Ernest, his email address is: hawonderful@usouthal.campus.mci.net Thanks!! Michelle ------------------------------
