Mine was several pages long and included letters written by my ancestor's commanding officers. The information is not online. When you write be sure to give them all the information you have on his service, i.e. regiment, company, where he enlisted, where he died and when, etc. Just everything you know including his wife's name in case she applied. She may not havve applied but then again she may have since she had a young family to support. Be sure to state he was a Confederate soldier. Good luck Marguerite
