    2. Hello Karen Have you trired looking to see if his wife Elizabeth applied for a Civil War Pension after his death? I ran into this same situation and got a copy of the penison application which had a lot of information on it. Confederte soldiers and their widows of the Civil War were permitted to apply from the state where they lived. Give it a try. Here is what I found on A F Cryer 1860 Rapides Parish, Alexandria, LA. census A F Cryer age 34 b LA Farmer wife Elizabeth " 24 ?? " son Thom " 14 " William H " 12 " Sarah Ann " 9 " Caroline " 7 " Son Plumer " 6 " Dtr Cynthia Ann " 3 " Mary I " 3mo. " Hope thtis helps Marguerite
