Hi, Yes my Gordons are white also, and they are driving me crazy!! lol My paternal grandfather was George Fred Gordon born Mar 02, 1898 in Phila, PA to a George L & Permelia Shephard Gordon (according to his SS-5 application). BUT I cannot find him in the 1900, 1910, 20 or 30 census. He "married" Rose Baer in Phila in 1930 (she was supposedly 15yrs younger then him) and they had 4 children, Katie 1931, Irvin Leon 1932 (my father) and 2 children still living. He and Rose "divorced" about 1946 and he stayed in the Phila, Chester county area till about 1957. When he picks up and moves way down there, to who???? Now on his headstone has the date of birth Mar 02, 1888, and he has a wife Mattie??? Her headstone is right next to his down in Richy Cemetery. I am starting to wonder if he and Mattie may have married before 1930 possibly. Apparently he was not a very nice man as my aunt wants absolutely nothing to do with him in any way, shape or form. Also when the family broke up she was only about 6 yrs old. George may not even have been a Gordon, so we are having my brother's DNA done this month to see.
