    3. Warren, I knew Toliver. Grandpa Weston Winegeart picked him up in his old red pickup truck and brought him to church at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Melder when I was a boy in the late 1950s and then to our house for fried chicken, rice and gravy and snap beans. Mr. Toliver appeared to me to be an "old" man. But of course, I was a boy then and didn't necessarily know better. I, too, am interested in Moores in Rapides Parish since grandpa Weston's mother was Annie Wilmerth Moore. Annie's father, Eliott Wood Moore may be your Davison Moore's father also. Eliot Wood Moore was born Sep 23, 1816 in GA, married Julia Ellen (or Emma) Keller on June 3, 1845 in St. Tammany Parish, LA. She was born Sep 5, 1820 in MS. Elliott and Julia appear on the 1850 St. Tammany Parish, LA census and Elliott is on the 1860 and 1870 Washington Parish, LA censuses in Franklinton, LA. Elliott and Julia moved to Rapides Parish in 1871. His tombstone shows him with the title "Elder". Elder E. W. Moore was elected temporary moderator of the Mt. Olive Baptist Association on Mar 27, 1885 when it was organized at Amiable Church. She died on Feb 9, 1895. He died on Mar 9, 1895. Both are buried in Amiable Cemetery between Melder and Glenmora, LA. Their children are: § Martin A (born 1845 in LA), married Melissa Mizell. He died in 1879. § Hannah E (born 1847 in LA), married Martin McGehee § Josephine (born 1849 in LA) § Thomas Davidson (born Jan 22, 1851 in LA). He married Mary Ann McDaniel. She was born Apr 7, 1856. He died on Jan 8, 1939. She died on Dec 23, 1950. Both are buried in Amiable Cemetery between Melder and Glenmora, LA. They had 10 children, among them Tolliver and James Edwin, living in Glenmora, LA in 1950 and Mrs. Charlie Lonsberry living in Sour Lake, TX in 1950. I think I have details on Mary Ann's funeral. § Annie Wilmerth (born Aug 14, 1857 in Washington Parish, LA), moved to Rapides Parish in 1871, married William Wiley Winegeart on May 5, 1883 in Rapides Parish, LA. He died on May 13, 1937. She died Oct 10, 1942. Both are buried in Campground Cemetery between Melder and Glenmora, LA. § E. V. (sister?) married F. M. Rougeou on Dec 17, 1888 in Alexandria, LA. Warren, as I think back, observing the relationship of Weston and Toliver in that old pickup truck, I would say that it is highly possible that they were 1st cousins. There just seemed to be some extra history between them. Here are some other Moores buried at Amiable. Until your note I had not been able to tie any of them to Elliot. Tolliver (born 1884), died 1968 Arabella May (born Mar 16, 1889), died Oct 2, 1914 Nancy Emma (born Jul 31, 1879), died Oct 28, 1904, married John N. Smith on Mar 5, 1902. Mary Ellen (born Mar 2, 1885), died May 6, 1950, married John N. Smith on Mar 31, 1906 I have more information on the Moores and the Lonsberry families. As well as other families in the Amiable/ Campground/Dyer communities.
