Daniel Herbert or Hubbard WILLIS Jr. and Julia Ann GRAHAM's marriage is recorded in Rapides Parish, La. in Marriage Book W-23, page 53 and they were married 5 Jan 1867. They had at least 11 children born 1867-1886. They are buried in the Graham Family Cemetery in Rapides Parish. Daniel H. WILLIS Jr. is the eldest child of 9 known children and son of Daniel H. WILLIS born 27 December 1817 on Bayou Boeuf and was married 15 Mar 1838 in Rapides Parish to Anna SLAUGHTER, according to "A History of the Baptists of Louisiana" published in 1888 by Rev. Willism E. Paxton, D.D. Daniel H. WILLIS was the son of Agerton WILLIS, eldest son of Rev. Joseph WILLIS known as the Apostle of Opelousas in Paxton's book. Daniel began to preach in 1847 was ordained a Bapitst minister in 1849 by Elders Joseph WILLIS, B.C. ROBERT and John O'QUIN at the residence of Elder Joseph WILLIS on Spring Creek in Rapides Parish. Daniel's family was enumerated on Page 398 of the 1850 U.S. Census of Calcasieu Parish, La. which puts him living somewhere south of Bayou Cocodrie or west of the Calcasieu River. Oral history says he went blind, while a resident of Babb's Bridge on Spring Creek in Rapides Parish.
