Hello again Floreda, The Alexandria Historical & Genealogical Library now has a single webpage with contact links. The URL is http://www.rootsweb.com/~laclgs/library.htm There may be a plat of the cemetery filed in the Plat Book Index at the Rapides Parish Courthouse. Unfortunately, it will not likely show ownership or burial information. You may find where the association responsible for that cemetery may have sold plots to individuals and if they have changed their name in the Vendor's Conveyance Indexes and possibly in the Charter Index. Once you identify the current name of the organization, then you may be able to contact someone that has such a plot-identified map. Mary Parker Partain has pretty good descriptions as to how she read the markers in this cemetery, so if they have headstones or legible temporary funeral home markers, you may be able to use her book to guide you to the plots. Presently, I should be available to assist you while you are in Alexandria/Pineville in February. Just email me if you need me. Happiest of Results, Houston Tracy Jr.
Thanks, Houston. I am so happy to see the library web page. Now all I have to do is pull up the page to check on the library information. I visited my grandparents graves with my mother in the late 1930s and I do not believe there were headstones. I remember the graves were close to Main Street on a side dirt road (all that has change so much since then). Thanks for the information I will need for the courthouse lookup - gets complicated, doesn't it? I really appreciate your sharing your knowledge.
