Perhaps an oversight... Jane Parker McManus is the niece of Mary Parker Partain. Jane took over, where Mary left off, when Mary's husband became invalid and took on her sworn vows (in sickness and in health) as a dutiful wife to nurse and nurture him in his time of need. Jane has since retired and was able to reevaluate and recensus some of Mary's work, of which Jane took a strong part and interest in, prior to returning to Louisiana. While I am sure Jane knows most everything that Mary knows, the eggs (accolades, in this case) belong on top of the heavier items in this shopping cart. My very special and personal "Thanks !" Go To Mary Parker Partain for her Devotion in her concerted effort to record every discernible tombstone inscription and temporary marker in every known cemetery in Rapides and Vernon Parishes and to "find the unknown information" by interviewing countless numbers of persons living in and near those cemeteries and the additional persons she was referred to by those living neighbors of our deceased forebearers. And also to Jane for assisting her Aunt Mary when no one else would on a regular basis. Even if it were from afar and on occassional vacation visits.
